N.O.R.E. says he enjoys rapping, but the C-N-N star says he also gets inspiration from playing a different role with the up and coming Good Belt Gang emcees.

“I’m playing the executive role,” he says in an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “I have a bunch of boys with talent…It’s a bunch of young boys who I feel are talented that need the right direction and I’m going to run things my way, so it’s going to come together collectively through the Good Belt project and once that’s out we’re going to get these guys ready for their solos.”

This is a natural transition for N.O.R.E., he explains.

“It’s just the next part of my career,” he adds. “I really enjoy being a CEO. I really enjoy helping, just like I was molded, I really enjoy shaping and molding the careers of other individuals…I need to become a coach because I enjoy making phone calls, it’s fucked up to say, but I enjoy more making phone calls for other people, it’s a certain honor making phone calls for somebody else than it is for yourself. For instance, if I’m calling a radio deejay and I’m like, ‘Yo, you got that new N.O.R.E.?’ I actually got to speak about myself in third person, but it’s more of an honor when I call for somebody other than myself and I kind of like that more. So that’s what I want to do, I kind of want to be the player that turns into the coach the same exact year.”

As a result, N.O.R.E. says he isn’t thinking about himself as a solo artist at the moment.

“I don’t want to force a solo album on me because I’m bored, I want to do it because the time is right,” he explains. “And right now it’s taking up way more of time concentrating on Good Belt Gang and concentrating on C-N-N. I just feel more honored. Like if you notice, I could’ve probably pushed a solo deal with Neil [Levine’s Penalty Records]. I could’ve probably pushed whatever I had to, but I put two people, I put two different allies in front of me on purpose, showing people how unselfish I am and I would rather make these people’s spot right now and then worry about N.O.R.E. later. N.O.R.E. is not a priority. Right now, it’s Capone and Noreaga. This is pure business. It’s Capone and Noreaga slash Good Belt Gang. Those are the two top priorities. It’s not that N.O.R.E. is not going to be a priority in the future, but right now, I’d rather put these two groups in front of me.”
