Legendary microphone pimp Ice-T will host the 2001 US finals of the DMC DJ mixing championships.

The contest, which will see 17 contestants battle it out for the title, will be held at Club Townsend in San Francisco on August 24. The contestants are all DJ’s who won their regional DMC championships to move on to the national finals. Last year’s winner DJ Craze, who won the event three times, will not compete but will perform with DJ Swamp.

X-Men Roc Raida and Total Eclipse will also rock tag team sets with Craze and Canadian whiz kid A-Trak. There’s no word on whether Ice-T will be performing as well.
