Breaking barriers with their style, Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz latest album “Crunk Juice” debuts at number 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts and number 2 on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R & B chart. With first week sales of 363,117 this album marks the biggest selling independent album in history. The album sales were actually cut short due to retailers releasing the cd earlier than the release date generating early sales of 38,578 units.

“This incredible feat solidifies the position of Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz in the ranks of music superstars,” said TVT Records president Steve Gottlieb. “It is also a testament to the careful and methodical artist development executed by our staff. That an album this massive was financed, produced, marketed and distributed 100% independently makes a point bigger than the sales mark it set. It shows the sea change in the music industry which has given a level of power to independent labels never before seen.” Ice Cube, Oobie, Usher, Ludacris, R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg, 8Ball & MJG and Lil Scrappy all make guest appearances on the album. “Most people probably thought we were going to come back with something commercial instead of what we do, which is always come out with a street record first. That’s our base. It’s classic Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz,” Lil Jon said.
