After making a surprise appearance with Jay-Z during his “final” concert at Madison Square Garden, Foxy Brown is ready to take hip-hop heads back to the good old days.
Having left Def Jam records last year after going back and forth on the promotion and priority of her unreleased album “Ill Nana 2:The Fever”, Foxy says she’s happy with her new deal on Jay-Z’s S.Carter Records label (Jay-Z hasn’t confirmed the new deal though he is set to take over as president of another established record label).
“It’s 96 again. This is a rebuilding process for me”, she told MTV. “The streets are begging for me to come back. They gotta listen to these bulls**t female artists right now. They just gotta settle right now, and I don’t think hip-hop should have to settle. They had a great teacher, but mommy’s home right now. When I come back, it’s a problem. I’m so back. I’m knocking out five joints a night—I’m a complete beast right now”. Foxy Brown is already putting plans in motion for her first album on the new label. “Whatever I make has to be so serious, it has to be ridiculous. I gotta shake New York up”. Guest appearances on her album tentatively titled “Black Rose” could be Dido, Jay-Z, Mos Def and if at all possible Shyne.
