Last week, Kid Cudi announced that his Satellite Flight EP would actually be released as an album.

In an interview with MTV News, Cudi revealed that the project, slated for a February release, is a source of great excitement for him.

“What was happening was, I was just on fire creatively,” said Cudi. “When you start a project, you have this notion, but you kind of put it in the back of your mind and you kind of have you idea, but I’m always kind of just like, whatever feels right, and hopefully it all comes together. And this kind of came together really well, surprisingly. And it was supposed to be this mini little thing for the fans and it ended up forming a life of its own. I’m really excited because it’s my best work and it’s a surprise. People weren’t really expecting it.”

Cudder explained how Satellite Flight ties into his other projects. “It starts where Indicud left off perfectly, and takes you right into Man on the Moon III. It’s like a TV show that ends with that cliffhanger. The album ends that way, where you get that one song and before you know it, the song is over and the album is over, but there’s a ‘to be continued…’ There’s more to the story.”
