After being praised in the Source’s Unsigned Hype column years ago, and tantalizing underground heads with dope-as-hell lyrics, J-Live is finally signed to a label that looks like it will release an album for him.

The rapper released The Best Part independently a few months ago, but he has now signed with Coup D’etat entertainment and a re-release of the LP is scheduled for October 2. Coup D’etat is run by the same people who brought underground hip-hop to a new level with releases on their labels 75 Ark and Asphodel.

The re-released version of the album will feature new tracks, remixes and new cover art. Check out the review of The Best Part in hiphopdx.com’s reviews section.
