To help promote peace Wyclef Jean is planning to stage a concert in his native land of Haiti. Wyclef plans to take all the proceeds from the concert and donate them to help stabilize the country. Hopeful, Wyclef would like at least two million people to attend the concert, which may be difficult but not impossible in a country of eight million people.

“ I was in Haiti three weeks ago, and I was hanging out on the block of the ghettos, in the baddest parts of town with no security. All that stuff you see on the news recently, with the guns and things, I didn’t see none of that”, Wyclef told reporters on a promotional tour for his first Creole album. The concert is scheduled for December 5th. His new album “Welcome to Haiti: Kweyole 101” tells the story of a Haitian boy who immigrates to America and grows up in New York such as Wyclef who came to America as a child.
