Members of Incubus, The Phardyce and Jurassic 5 have joined forces for an upcoming Ubisoft videogame “Rayman Legends.” Alex Katunich, also known as Dirk Lance, and Jose Pasillas II, founding members of Incubus, joined former Pharcyde emcee Slimkid3 and Jurassic 5’s DJ Nu-Mark for a selection on the video game’s soundtrack. Slimkid3 spoke about the collaboration in an interview with HipHopDX.
“We are all highly creative minds,” Slimkid said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX.”I’m not only a rapper, but I produce R&B, Soul and Alternative songs, as well. I feel like this is a winning combination.”
Slimkid also said that this combination allowed him to learn from the musicians he worked with.
“Well, from Alex, I’ve learned that he is super passionate about reworking the song until it’s right,” Slimkid said. “Jose was simply smooth as a whistle, going with the flow. DJ Nu-Mark was so amazing on the cuts, as well as being a super engineer when we were in the studio, cutting vocals with me. He knows his stuff when it comes to Pro Tools and whips it into shape like no one can.”
