The Roots band-leader Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson regularly tweets about good eats in his travels. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native is now entering the restaurant game through another native of the city, Stephen Starr. The Starr Restaurant Organization has partnered with the longtime drummer/deejay/producer to open Hybrid, in New York City’s Chelsea Market.
Hybrid will open on May 18. Among its inaugural menu items will be “Love Drumsticks,” ?uest’s take on fried chicken, which he cooked in a challenge on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”
Starr Restaurant Organization has venues in Philadelphia, New York and Atlantic City, New Jersey, among other cities.
