She’s been featured in videos by such hip-hop artists as Jay-Z (“Big Pimpin”in the white fur coat), DMX, Ice- T and Ja Rule and magazines such as XXL, Vibe and The Source but the attention Gloria Velez is now getting isn’t what she was hoping for. On a ten city tour to promote her new mixtape “Glory” the Long Island born rapper’s luxury tour bus was raided by police as part of a two year investigation into a possible $50 million dollar drug ring. Allegedly police found drugs and cash underneath the onboard bed.
Although she is currently not under arrest, four men where arrested after police seized 200 pounds of cocaine and $800,000 in cash. “The four men are suspected of running a $50 million a year network that moved drugs from the West Coast to New York, Washington, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina”, the District Attorney Jeanine Pirro told the NY Daily News. No comment was made as to whether Velez, who has been dubbed the Pamela Anderson of hip-hop, is cooperating with prosecutors. Velez began her career as an Elite model at the age of 15 but quickly began to focus on hip-hop and landed jobs as a dancer in videos from Sisqo to Jay-Z. Most recently Gloria began to focus on her own hip-hop career telling such magazine’s as XXL that she wanted to be hip-hop’s next hottest female rapper.
