Khalid has addressed claims made by an ex-boyfriend who outed him as gay that he was abusive during their relationship.
In a video shared on social media on Monday (November 25), the R&B singer confronted allegations made by Hugo Almonte that he was abusive, engaged in drug use and hired escorts.

“I just wanted to come on here and address some things so we can just leave this all in the past,” he began. “I feel like it’s important that I speak my side of the situation.”
He continued: “Alright, I’m gonna speak about the pink cocaine thing. I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I smoke weed and I drink a little bit, but I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life, for real.”

Khalid then denied hiring an escort: “I’ve never paid for sex a day in my life. Ever. I’ve never paid anybody to date me, I’ve never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me. Ever.
“That dude and I dated four to five years ago, y’all. The last time that I talked to this guy was four years ago. This is all random, I don’t know why he did it, I don’t know what’s going on with him. Mental health is real.”

The “Location” hitmaker also denied accusing Almonte of breaking into his home and shut down claims that he was abusive towards him.
“I’ve never accused anybody publicly of breaking into my house. The only people who even know about a break-in are my close circle. Nobody knew because I don’t want everybody in my business,” he continued.

“The only reason I’m clearing up any of this is because it’s just a little triggering seeing the few comments of people painting me as some manipulative abuser. It’s just crazy to me.
“Regarding the stories of abuse… it’s triggering. Because it’s the other way around. And that’s what hurts the most. If you know me, you already know that’s not how I get down. But yeah, all of this is definitely frustrating.

“I want all of this to be over just like y’all. It’s literally one of the main reasons why I don’t involve myself in any drama and why I stay out of the way. I don’t like this. This is very bothering.”
The allegations stem from since-deleted social media posts from Almonte, who last week made numerous claims about Khalid and posted photos of them together.
His initial post said: “I was dating this dumb-ass singer he’s ugly as fuck but he tried to set me up and lie and say I broke into his house because I broke up with him. Why would I go to your house and do all that if I broke up with you[?] Bitch ass [ninja emoji] lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”
He also claimed that “one of your favorite gay R&B singers” once served him pink cocaine.

Following Almonte’s online outburst, Khalid confirmed that he is gay.
“I got outted [sic] and the world still continues to turn,” he wrote on X. “Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me, love yall.”

He also responded to a fan’s comment saying “we accept you” by saying: “I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business.”
