While Khalid did not specify who had outed him, the Daily Mailnoted that fellow singer Hugo D. Almonte had made a series of now-deleted posts where he said: “one of your favorite gay R&B singers suck my dick and it was really bad,” and then seemingly as a response to speculation over who he was talking about, posted a photo of him and Khalid together.
“I was dating this dumb-ass singer he’s ugly as fuck but he tried to set me up and lie and say I broke into his house because I broke up with him,” Almonte continued. “Why would I go to your house and do all that if I broke up with you[?] Bitch ass [ninja emoji] lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”

Khalid’s latest release is the album Sincere, from this past August.
The project ends his five-year hiatus and showcases his growth. “I needed to take that break,” Khalid told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe prior to its release. “When I come back, I’ll come back with more clarity, more maturity, more knowledge.”
