Second chances aren’t always given to rappers found guilty of a crime, but No Limit soldier C-Murder is proving to be a exception. This week Louisiana State District Judge Martha Sassone granted C-Murder’s defense team their request for a new trial after they proved the prosecution withheld information about witnesses. C-Murder’s lawyer Ron Rakosky argued that special consideration was given to witnesses that had criminal records in exchange for testimony against C-Murder.

An alleged witness to the shooting outside the Louisiana nightclub in January 2002 had a list of convictions including a felony conviction. A hearing has been set for Monday April 12, 2004 to discuss the possibility of C-Murder also known as Corey Miller being released on bail. Although prosecutors in the case claim to have been unaware of the witness’s background, they plan to appeal any decision for a mistrial. If C- Murder conviction does stand he faces a possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. He currently has been in jail since his initial arrest on January 19, 2002.
