After hanging up his mic in 1999 with his announcement “I am grateful for all the blessing bestowed on me that were a result of my music career. Now its time for me to serve God in His way”, Mason Betha said goodbye to his rap career as one of the top selling artists on Bad Boy.
Here it is five years later and rumors are running wild that Ma$e is returning to the booth to record new material for another album. Talks have been in the works for Ma$e to reunite with his former manager Cudda Love who is the owner of Fo’ Reel Entertainment, the company that showcases such talent as Nelly ,The St. Lunatic’s and 106 and Park Freestyle winner the Postaboy.
Having heard four of his songs Jermaine Dupri told The Russ Parr Morning Show, “It’s hot. I heard like four songs Ma$e never used to be big on cursing. It sounds like the old Ma$e”.
It is still unclear if Ma$e will return as a new artist on the Fo’ Reel Entertainment label because he is still under contract with Bad Boy Records. “The Lord sends you messages when He’s Ready and not necessarily when we are”, Ma$e said. Welcome back Mason Betha.
