The D12 video Purple Pills will be aired on MTV, after lengthy discussions between the station and D12’s label Shady Records.
The all-music (not quite) station initially refused to play the video because of its obvious drug references. Shady Records, Eminem’s company, reached a deal with MTV that the video would be played only in the middle of the night. At one point, there was even word that they would change the name to Purple Hills, just like Weezer’s Half pipe (Hash pipe).
D12’s album Devil’s Night, is currently number 1 on the Billboard charts.
