Those waiting for the follow up to 50 Cent’s multi-platinum album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” will be waiting longer than they expected. Not happy with the songs he began preparing for a July 4th release date, 50 Cent has scrapped all his songs to go back to the drawing board. “I wanted to come out on the Fourth of July, so I went in and made some records,” 50 told MTV. “And then I went back to listen to Get Rich or Die Tryin’. I said, ‘I have to top this album in my head. I have to make a lot more records in preparation for a new album than I had for Get Rich.'”

Working to prepare a new album to meet the tentative new release date of October won’t just be added pressure for 50 Cent. “There’s pressure on Dr. Dre, also. He has to produce a better record for me than ‘In Da Club’ In three days, I could make a record, 12 songs. But I have to make an album that tops what my last album was, so it’ll take a lot longer”.

G-Unit fans won’t be left empty handed as fellow members Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and new member Game have solo albums planned to be released before the end of the summer.
