The second annual exhibit Hip-Hop is Dead: Or is it?, is now showing at the Atrium Gallery Café in Toronto.

The exhibit features 50 paintings, sketches, photos and installations made by students at the Ontario College of Art and Design. The theme of the show is exploring the state of contemporary hip-hop, commercial and jiggy rap vs. conscious and underground rap. “Hip-hop is definitely not what it used to be,” said Danilo McDowell-McCallum, the exhibit’s curator and a third-year OCAD student. “The majority is dead but the underground hip-hop scene is alive.”

The exhibit runs until June 28. Call 416-977-6000,X262 for details.
