Before they embark on their Beast Coast Tour later this month, Brooklyn-based crew Pro Era caught up with GoodFellaMedia.com to speak briefly on their headlining tour, what they’ve learned from past tour experiences, and more.
Joey Bada$$ revealed that the tour will serve as an introduction to what the Beast Coast movement is and promised that it will also demonstrate “a new beginning for Hip Hop.”
“The Beast Coast Tour is like solidifying this whole musical movement that we have,” Joey Bada$$ explained. “This is really the official stand on what the Beast Coast really is and how we plan on impacting the game…It’s a new beginning for Hip Hop.”
Although the Beast Coast Tour will serve as Pro Era’s first headlining tour, several members of the crew do have touring experience thanks to the Smoker’s Club Tour, a tour Joey Bada$$ referred to as “performance camp.”

“The crowd is here for us,” said CJ Fly when asked what he learned while on tour. “Don’t get caught in your whole performance…They came to see you and you better give them a good show. They’re here to support you regardless. You know what I’m saying? And whatever you’re doing just know that people are there to see you.”
Later in the interview, Joey Bada$$ spoke on his Ecko Studio Sessions with producer Pete Rock.
“Besides the fact that we kinda look alike and shit. It was pretty dope. He’s a fuckin’ legend. One of my favorite producers. It was like a dream come true. Like yo, life is really a dream,” said the rapper.
Pro Era’s Beast Coast Tour will kick off in Portland, Oregon on March 21st and make stops in about 25 other cities throughout the months of March and April.
