It looks like Bad Boy Records isn’t the only one celebrating their 10 year anniversary in hip-hop next month. Queensbridge’s own Nas will be pay homage to his first entry album “Illmatic” with a double disc release titled “Illmatic Platinum Series”. The album scheduled to hit stores March 30th on Columbia Records will put together Nas’s early hits as well as a few new songs. Disc one will be a completely remastered version of the original “Illmatic”.
Disc two features four of “Illmatic” hottest songs remixed by some of hip-hops hottest producers. The songs remixed are Life’s A Bitch” (produced by Rockwilder), “The World Is Yours” (produced by Vibesmen), “One Love” (produced by Nick “FURY”), and “It Ain’t Hard To Tell” (produced by Nick “FURY”). The two new tracks will be “On the Real” and “Star Wars”. A DVD will also be released titled “Video Anthology Vol. 1” which showcases clips for “Illmatic” plus videos that Nas has done over the years. Currently Nas is in the studio working on his new album “Street’s Disciple” which hits stores this summer.
