Snoop Dogg can now breathe easy. A superior court judge has dismissed the lawsuit against him by “Jim Bob” whose voice was used on the “Paid the Cost to be Tha Boss” album allegedly without his permission. “Jim Bob” who chooses to keep his name a secret because he felt he would be in physical danger, left a one minute message on Snoop Dogg’s answering machine proclaiming his support for his beef with Suge Knight. The message later popped up on the album. “Jim Bob” filed suit against Snoop Dogg and Captial Records but didn’t respond to Judge Lawrence Crispo’s ruling to reconsider the judge’s decision. In November the judge stated the plaintiff should have not expected his message to remain private when he left it on the machine.

He’s gone from music to television to the big screen but Mos Def has never forgotten the fans that made him the biggest star. This year Mos Def will be releasing his first album since his 1999 solo album “Black on Both Sides” on Rawkus records. Even though Rawkus Records is no longer in business, his album will now be released by Geffen Records. Mos Def will also continue his acting when he stars in the film “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” as Prefect, an alien who saves his friend Arthur Dent from earth’s destruction. He can also be seen in HBO’s original movie “Something the Lord Made” surrounding the true story of Vivien Thomas(Mos Def) and Alfred Blalock(Alan Rickman) and the controversial film “The Woodsman” executive produced by none other than Damon Dash.
