LL Cool J has proved to be one of the longest standing rappers in the hip-hop game still doing what he loves to do. Many people have wondered what has kept LL Cool J riding high in music as well as movies. During an interview with Stuff magazine LL talks about his marriage to his wife as what keeps him grounded by saying, “Whatever you apply in your personal life leads into the rest of your life, and it helps you become more successful. If I’m in a hotel room partying with triplets, I’m not gonna be takin’ care of my business, you know? It’s a cool image in the magazine, but at the end of the day, you end up with nothing, because you blow your wad. I still have fun – I didn’t get, like, neutered. I’m still alive. I still get on roller coasters and go crazy. It’s just that you gotta have focus and instruction in your life”.
Right now LL Cool J’s focus is on completing his new album on the Def Jam label and promotion for his upcoming movie “Mindhunters”. The idea of the movie is a serial killer is hidden among seven young FBI agents who work on a secret psychological profiling. The movie is scheduled to hit theatre’s January 23rd.
