One of hip-hop’s most notorious chapters will see another development when Suge Knight is released from prison in August.

The former head of Death Row Records will be set free on August 9, after serving four and a half years of his nine-year sentence. He has been transferred to a federal prison in Oregon from his previous “home” in California to ride out his sentence.

Knight was jailed for violating probation in an incident that occurred in Las Vegas the night Tupac was shot. While he has never been charged, Knight is often referred to as being potentially involved in the case.
