Pusha To spoke with Soul Culture UK as part of their “My Favourite Verse” series, naming his 16 on Kanye West’s “So Appalled” as his personal favorite. During the interview, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper said that it served as a standout moment for his talents and that he shone brighter than others on the track.

“I would say the ‘So Appalled’ verse in the past couple of years is probably one of my best verses,” he said. “I feel like it’s the verse that’s just a standout moment for me, and a lot of people took notice at that point in time. If they weren’t noticing before, they definitely took notice at that time because everybody else was on the track and to have a stellar verse like that…”

The Clipse member said that the track started out as a collaboration with him and Kanye West, but that the final version ended up with Jay-Z and CyHi the Prynce. He explained that it was a great opportunity to contribute to the record, and that sharing track space with Hov meant a lot to him.

“I got busy on ‘So Appalled’ and people need to understand that. I’ma tell you the truth, it wasn’t what it was. When I did ‘So Appalled,’ it was just me and ‘Ye on it. When I heard ‘So Appalled,’ it was me, ‘Ye, Jay-Z and CyHi. I don’t know if CyHi had heard the verse, but I know Jay had. From what he heard, he was like, ‘I’m getting on this joint too.’ I feel like it was a good moment because I don’t know if I’ll ever get on a record with Jay-Z again. But if I don’t, I did.”
