This week, Roscoe Dash made some heavy-hitting claims directed towards Kanye West and Wale, claiming that he wrote songs for them and didn’t receive proper credit. Speaking of ‘Ye, his G.O.O.D. Music crew released its new album Cruel Summer this week, making the media rounds to promote the project. And Missy Elliott is back with a pair of new singles – “Triple Threat” and “9th Inning” – appearing on New York City, New York radio stations and MTV to speak on a slew of topics ranging from the posthumous Aaliyah album to a potential all-female tour.

Roscoe Dash Claims He Wasn’t Credited For Writing Kanye West & Wale Songs

Roscoe Dash made some inflammatory claims this week. Taking to Twitter to air his grievances, the Atlanta, Georgia rapper asserted that he wrote Kanye West‘s “To the World” and the hook for Wale’s “Lotus Flower Bomb” featuring Miguel, explaining that he’s publicly putting them on blast as a lesson to others. “[T]here are so many ppl who wanna be apart of the industry but dnt Kno half of the shit that goes on,” justified Dash. Wale’s Maybach Music Group partner Meek Mill responded on Twitter with a quick jab: “Yo @roscoedash u must not b getting no money b! Lol.” Miguel also addressed the controversy. “Wale and another artist that I recently met penned the original ‘Lotus Flower Bomb’ chorus and I came in and added the second half or the end part…I’m not going to explain myself, this is retarded,” he said.

G.O.O.D. Music Releases Cruel Summer

G.O.O.D. Music had a good week. The Kanye West-fronted crew released its new album Cruel Summer, unleashing one of the most anticipated projects of the year. HipHopDX gave the album a solid review, claiming that it isn’t for the casual Kanye fan. “Fans expecting to hear more of a traditional Kanye sound (whatever that is) on Cruel Summer need look elsewhere,” we wrote. “G.O.O.D. Music’s first outing successfully showcases the collective’s talents, but it’s ultimately an underachieving and uneven effort.” The team spent the week making the media rounds, while West released a video explaining the creative approach he took to recording and shaping the LP.

Missy Elliott Returns With A Pair Of Singles

Missy Elliott finally made her grand return. After teasing that she would drop a pair of singles on Labor Day, the veteran emcee unleashed her pair of singles “Triple Threat” and “9th Inning,” both produced by and featuring Timbaland. Missy and Tim dropped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club and Hot 97’s Angie Martinez Show to discuss the posthumous Aaliyah album, claiming that they were not contacted to participate in the project and think that it’s “fabricated.” The femcee then hit BET’s on her own, claiming that her album is “crazy” and will make people think that “we never left.” Finally, she hopped on the RapFix Live couch to talk about creating an all-female music tour and the beef between Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim.
