The Roots are back in the studio working on their next album, but plans to brainstorm ideas have stretched further than they imagined. ?uestlove, Black Thought, Kamal and Leonard Hubbard have officially taken over the Studio in Philadelphia for a serious of jam sessions to breath life into their new album “Tipping Point”. “We all came in with different ideas,” Black Thought told Billboard. “So, we decided to put a bunch of people together and see what happens. As a result, we’ve already gotten a lot of solid material at an alarming rate”.

“Normally, this is the process for us,” ?uestlove continued. “We used to jam like this in my living room all the time. So, we decided to do a recreation of my living room in the studio. We also invited people from outside the group to get other energies”. Several of the artists that have shown up for the jam session are Floetry, Glenn Lewis, Jill Scott, Martin Luther and K-OS. The album is scheduled to hit stores next April but the jam sessions will end in November.
