After going multi-platinum of his first album on Shady Records, 50 Cent is switching his album plans again to make room for the G-Unit to move to the front line. After reporting he would release his new album in February 2004, a year after the release of “Get Rich or Die Trying”( which is still moving units in the store), 50 Cent is now planning to release his album June of 2004.
The move is for good reason since “Beg for Mercy” will be released November 18th and Lloyd Banks long awaited solo album following up in March. “I was gonna release it in the first quarter, but [the record company] asked me to give “Beg for Mercy” room, you know. The material for the G-Unit record came out so well, they feel like it’s gonna have a long shelf life”, 50 told MTV. The record company isn’t the only who sees success on the horizon. “A million and a half,” Young Buck says on the amount of albums he says will be sold in the first week. “I believe anything is possible. You know, with the controversy around the album, I think once the people get a hold of it and they get to listening and seeing the things on this album, that’s gonna make you say, ‘Hold up — I know they didn’t just say that. It’s gonna draw a whole lot more people.”
