After Frank Ocean penned a letter about his sexuality several weeks ago, many members of the Hip Hop community supported the Odd Future crooner, the latest being 50 Cent. During an interview with MTV News UK, the G-Unit general said that anyone who has a problem with Ocean “is an idiot” and that he respects his creativity.
“Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot,” he said. “I think Frank Ocean is a talented artist, I think he’s created material that made me know his name. That impressed me, with things he said on a song like ‘Novacane.’ I could care less about what his personal preference is in the actual bedroom.”
Fif also spoke on how this represents a shift in attitudes over the past few years, crediting President Barack Obama as one of the reasons that Ocean’s coming out was widely accepted. “Obama is for same-sex marriage,” he said. “If the president is saying that, then who am I to go the other way.”
