Corey Miller also known as C-Murder is finally having his day in court. After being accused of allegedly killing sixteen year old Steve Thomas at Club Platinum in January 2002, C-Murder is hoping to fight off the second-degree murder charges that could give him a life sentence.

The trial began last week in Gretna, Louisiana with Douglas W Freese, the state’s prosecutor re-telling the alleged incident that lead to C-Murder shooting Thomas after an argument on the dance floor. C-Murder denies shooting Thomas but does acknowledge he was at the club. His lawyer Ronald J. Rokosky said police have never found a weapon or any physical evidence that he actually committed the crime. Though this trial is expected to last three weeks, C-Murder will also be tried in several other cases against him including attempted first degree murder.

Master P and C- Murder’s father Percy Miller Sr., told the AP, “This is a lot of stress on the family, but we know he didn’t do it,” He further stated that people shouldn’t confuse C-Murder the rapper and Corey Miller the man. He’s a rapper. That’s just a character he’s playing.”
