Jurassic 5 co-founder Chali 2na and former Stones Throw Records artist Roc C have announced their formation of group, Ron Artiste. The pair’s first album, R.I.D.S. is expected to release on KashRoc Entertainment on August 14, 2012.
Previously, Chali has done a collaborative album with Supernatural, in addition to his work with J5 and Ozomatli. Roc C is said to be working on an additional album with Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother fame.
Ron Artiste takes its name from Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Ron Artest, who is now known as Meta World Peace.

UPDATE: KashRoc Entertainment notified HipHopDX that Ron Artiste’s R.I.D.S. will include feature appearances from King Tee, The Alchemist, Edo G., Krondon, Oh No, Rapper Big Pooh, Lee Bannon, LMNO, Soul Professa, Tristate, Casual and IMakeMadBeats.
