With the beef between 50 Cent and Ja Rule simmering down, many people in hip-hop are wondering what direction Ja Rule is planning to take his career. Not giving any specifics, Def Jam has confirmed that Ja Rule is back in the studio working on his next album, which will have a harder tone than his hit song’s “Always on Time” and “Put It On Me”.

No word has been released on when the album will hit the streets. Let’s hope it takes us back to “Venni, Vetti, Vicci”! Ja Rule is also working hard to promote his clothing line ErvingGeoffrey, named after himself and Irv Gotti. Movies have also been a growing outlet for Ja Rule, who is slated to begin production on the film “Back in the Day” with Vhing Rhames in Puerto Rico next month. In the movie Ja Rule stars as a man from the right side of the tracks who does a favor for an old friend played by Vhing Rhames who is in the gang life. After doing the favor, Ja Rule gets caught up in a situation beyond his control. Ja has also been added to the Jennifer Lopez film “Shall We Dance” and has a part in the movie “Scary Movie 3”.
