As Waka Flocka Flame makes his rounds before the release of Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family, the rapper addressed the passing of his friend, Slim Dunkin

“What made me put my album out? My best friend died in December,” explained the Brick Squad member on RapRadar.com. “It took me two months after him passing away – not even two months. I didn’t get over his death for four months. So it took me the fifth month after my friend lost his life for me to start my new album.”

“I put my album together in like a month-and-a-half or two months,” he added.

Waka Flocka also addressed what he hopes to accomplish with the release of Triple F Life. “I feel like it’s too much fuckin’ politics,” he explained. “I don’t want to be known for breaking rules. I’m a man that chase the real and chase the truth, and politics is not in music. This shit is not the corporate lifestyle. I understand it makes good money, but with that good money, we have a lot of good fun. And I just came back and put that back into the business.”
