New York City police are hoping they will be able to determine if the shooter of Jam Master Jay’s nephew Rodney Jones is also the person who shot Jam Master Jay as well.
Police arrested twenty-year-old Karl Jordan on August 8th for the shooting of Rusty Waters’s member Rodney Jones on May 14th. New York Newsday reported that Jones identified Jordan as the shooter in his incident. Karl Jordan is being held for $50,000 bail and had been previously Darren Jordan, father of Karl Jordan told Launch.com, “My son ain’t scared, but he’s not comfortable. He knows he didn’t do it.” Jam Master Jay also known as Jason Mizell a founding member of the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC was shot and killed in his Queens, New York studio by a masked gunman last October.
The murder investigation has not been closed but police are not saying how far along they are in solving the case. Several of the theories investigators have looked into are money disputes, gang retaliation, beef with other rappers.
