50 Cent has announced the release of his upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape The Lost Tape with DJ Drama.

The G-Unit honcho, often credited for popularizing mixtapes on a mainstream level in the early ‘00s, is yet to release a project with DJ Drama. He last released  The Big 10 in December 2011, and prior to that, dropped Forever King in July 2009.

Fif is currently recording his oft-delayed fifth album, which is tentatively set for release on July 2nd.

UPDATE: 50 Cent has announced that The Lost Tape mixtape with DJ Drama, his first as part of the Gangsta Grillz brand, will release on May 15th.

The LOST TAPE is coming out on the 15th. Nothing but heat watch how it shake things up. #SK
