    1. Saw the roots in Boston 2 weeks ago, absolutely mind-blowing. I’ve seen over a hundred concerts, the last five rock the bells, and this is as good as it gets. The best live hip hop performance you will ever see, period. I would have paid 1000 bucks to see this one song w/ black star..

    2. Just WOW. That’s history right there.
      Connections
Pete Rock- Dilla – Quest – Yassin – Kweli
      Yeah.
I love Quest man keep these records straight man.

    3. yea pete rock did use that i remember man i miss dilla he was better than all these cookie cutter beat makers and who beside outkast fuckin with yasiin bey and kweli? nobody

    4. That entire Pete & CL Main Ingredient album is littered with those interlude beat gems. Just crazy! Masterful job by Dilla putting his stamp on it. Nobody up and coming is anywhere near the talent of PR and Dilla. It’s really sad.

    5. If someone has to explain the significance of something, it’s probably not that important. The roots have to be the most overrated group of all time. People on this board rave about them all the time. But when I turn on the radio, I never hear their songs being played. I guess they aren’t exactly at YMCMB status.

      1. ule never hear the roots on the radio cause they make REAL music my man…do ure research and check out their albums.

    6. The Roots are the greatest band of all time. J Dilla is the greatest producer. Nobody else would even consider taking time to chop that song up so intricate like that. That is mind blowing!
