In an unprecedented event, Bad Boy Records and Def Jam Records have finally come to an agreement. Bad Boy and Def Jam have agreed to jointly promote and market the R&B group 112.
112 left Bad Boy Records last year after feeling that their album had not been promoted as they felt it should. Both labels will operate under a Bad Boy/Def Jam logo and split all the profits from 112’s future album releases. Bad Boy Records will retain the three previous catalog’s (albums) the group released. P.Diddy went to court to get and injunction to prevent 112 from signing with Def Jam, and it seems his work paid off.
“Lyor Cohen and I have been friends for a long time,” said P.Diddy said in a statement to the media. “Our personal relationship is more important to me than a minor business dispute. The settlement is mutually beneficial and I look forward to working with him on 112 and Foxy Brown and making sure both artists continue to have successful careers.”
