Cash Money Books, a division of the empire founded by Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Baby” Williams (a/k/a Birdman ) has acquired the literary catalogue of late author Iceberg Slim. The publishing branch of the record empire will re-release Slim’s iconic 1969 novel, Pimp on May 10.
Said to be a leading influence on Hip Hop artists including Ice-T, the book, which has reportedly sold upwards of 2.5 million copies. Largely autobiographical, Pimp: The Story of My Life chronicles the rise of a Chicago, Illinois man who turns to pimping to build his empire.
In total, Iceberg Slim wrote seven novels, all of which Cash Money Books intends on re-releasing. Slim, born Robert Beck, died in 1992
