R&B crooner K-Ci of the brother duo K-Ci and Jo-Jo has pleaded no contest to four lewd conduct charges alleging that he pulled down his pants and mooned the audience of a Christmas concert last year.

K-Ci’s attorney Kenneth Markham entered the pleas for the misdemeanor charges on behalf of his client in Los Angeles Municipal Court.

The singer, whose legal name is Cedric Hailey, was on tour and did not appear in court. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Jun. 5, when he is expected to be fined and ordered to perform community service.

“We’re still trying to work out the details of that [what the total fines will be and what kind of community service will be required of K-Ci], which won’t be announced until his sentencing in court,” Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Phyllis Henderson said Wednesday. “With the ‘no contest’ pleading, which is like pleading guilty, the other related charges against him will be dismissed in court.”

Prosecutors who originally charged Hailey with 24 counts of lewd conduct and indecent maintained that Hailey pulled down his pants and underpants during a Dec. 16 Jingle Ball concert at the Shrine Auditorium in Hollywood before an audience of 4,000 including children as young as 5 years old. That show’s bill also featured Christina Aguilera, 98 Degrees, and Third Eye Blind.

Markham said K-Ci “got caught up in the moment” and regretted the incident. K-Ci’s brother Jo-Jo, whose legal name is Joel Hailey, was not charged with any wrongdoing connected with the Shrine incident.
