Fox television’s hit series Glee has introduced millions of viewers to various popular songs. Last year, the series cast performed Cee-Lo Green’s hit “Fuck You,” with a guest appearance by actress Gwyneth Patrow, that helped propel the Goodie Mob emcee/singer’s The Lady Killer hit to a smash single.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Glee creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the show had plans to resurrect another anthem by an emcee. Per the interview, Glee attempted to cover Eminem’s 2002 hit “Lose Yourself,” but the legal rights to cover the Aftermath Entertainment gold single would cost $200,000. “We couldn’t do it because the episode would’ve been so over budget,” Murphy said.

Eminem’s Interscope label-mates, The Black Eyed Peas, have been covered on Glee this season. Last December, there were rumors that Em would appear on the show. Those rumors have never been substantiated.
