After sharing the mic with his partner in rap Big Boi, Dre 3000 of OutKast will be branching out on his career in the entertainment field next year.
Dre 3000 also known as Andre Benjamin will be starring in a major motion picture film titled “Love Hater” which will be directed by movie legend Morgan Freeman. The film which is scheduled to begin shooting in March of next year, tells the story of Valentine (played by Dre 3000) and Chevon (possibly played by actress Shannyn Sossamon) who are trying to have a relationship and go through many obstacles that lead then to go on the run.
In a statement to the media, director Morgan Freeman said, “”I’ve been planning on making a film in the vein of ‘Badlands,’ ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ and ‘Midnight Cowboy’ for years — a character-driven adventure that feels as if it were actually made in the ’70s. I’m extremely excited to work with Benjamin, whose message behind his solo single ‘Love Hater’ is the same as my vision of the film’s message. Both are asking the same questions — questions we don’t understand regarding love and how it can hurt us more than help.” Outkast recently released the best of “Big Boi and Dre Present… Outkast” on Arista Records.
