With his first movie set to hit movie theatres nationwide on November 8th, Eminem’s hard work is sure to pay off. With early movie critic’s proclaiming that his performance is worthy of an Oscar nomination, 30 year-old Marshall Mathers also known to the hip-hop world as Eminem says his work on the “8 Mile” require crazy long hours.
“I wanted to make a movie that every kid who went through anything similar to this can relate to. This was my whole life,” Eminem told The New York Times.
To make his character as believable as possible, Eminem worked six days a week for 13 to 16 hours a day. “Every time I felt like I wasn’t believable, I took notes and I brought them to Curtis (Curtis Hanson is the film’s director). “I’m like, yo, watch my facial expression here, it’s not the greatest in the world.”
For all those fans that enjoy Eminem’s performance in the movie, Eminem wants to warn that there might not be any more movies. It’s because I’m looking for continuity and looking for mistakes,” he said. “The guy’s shirt’s a little wrinkled and you cut back and it’s the same scene and his shirt’s not wrinkled. You drive yourself crazy with it.”
