Hip-hop supporting a positive cause is always welcome news. The Beatnuts and Non Phixion will be wrapping up their concert series on the Rap The Vote tour in California. Rap The Vote 2002 is a partnership between Rock the Vote and the NAACP with help from Def Jam Inc and RUSH Communications. The organizations goal is to increase voter registration through pledge drives, television and radio PSAS, concerts and Forums. Once someone registers to vote during the Rap The Vote concert series will be scheduled for an automated follow-up phone call from LL Cool J before the election begins on November 5th.
The Beatnuts released their latest album “The Beatnuts Present the Originators” will be released on Landspeed Records on November 5th. Non Phixion has sold over 100,000 records independently earning them a devoted underground following. In April 2002, they released “The Future Is Now” featuring Pete Rock, Dilated Peoples and Fear Factory. Please go out and register to vote and see The Beatnuts and Non Phixion on October 16th at The Knitting Factory in Los Angeles and October 17th at Cane’s Bar and Grill in San Diego. Both events are scheduled to begin at 8pm.
