Having showed dedication and loyalty to the label that signed him, LL Cool J has stayed with Def Jam Records long enough to complete ten albums. In between doing music LL Cool J also known as James Smith, has branched off into other careers such as movies and writing books.
In an interview with CDNow, the soon to be free agent (LL Cool J has not signed a new contract with Def Jam as of late) said, “It’s not any bad blood. It’s not negative. It’s not like I hate them or they hate me. We did what we did for a very long time. My association with Def Jam has been good to me. I’m very thankful, and when I look back, I wouldn’t have it any other way.” LL Cool J is set to drop his new album “Ten” (without any curse words on it) this month while he currently has a new children’s book in stores.
After staring in movies such as Deep Blue Sea and Kingdom Come, LL is still continuing his movie career with a new film in the works. Always on top of his game LL Cool J doesn’t turn down the possibility to resign with Def Jam. “Even though I’m a free agent now, I still feel loyalty. Hopefully, me and Def Jam can get together and think up something for the future”.
