Fresh off of releasing The War Report 2 with partner Capone earlier this year, Lefrak emcee N.O.R.E. has another nostalgic release in the works. The veteran once known as Noreaga has the tentatively-titled S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G. coming, as his next solo album. Just last year, the former “T.O.N.Y.” hit-maker released S.O.R.E. on SMC Recordings.

S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G. references N.O.R.E.’s 1998 smash single “Super Thug,” which was produced by a burgeoning Neptunes production team. Released on Penalty Records, the single’s album, N.O.R.E., which featured Big Pun, Cam’ron, Nas and Kool G Rap, would eventually go platinum.

After the emcee and producer have not released work together since 2002’s God’s Favorite album, N.O.R.E. said in a video blog that a reunion is in place for the album named of the pair’s early hit. “It’s a club-driven, up-tempo [album]. We just did the [War Report 2] album, which is very serious, very hardcore, very different from what I’m used to doing as a solo artist,” said N.O.R.E., noting that the album is still in recording, and thus presently incomplete. Cutting to the chase, N.O.R.E. said, “Yes, I do have a joint with Pharrell,” before adding that the duo had been in the studio together. “Swizz Beatz, man, I don’t know what’s up with him, man…I’m really focused at getting Swizz Beatz, at this point, for this album,” he added, joking that he may have to “kidnap” the onetime Ruff Ryders hit-maker to achieve his goal.

Lastly, N.O.R.E. spoke on the idea of following up “Banned From TV,” a legendary lyrical anthem from his original 1998 debut featuring Cam’ron, Nature, Big Pun and The L.O.X. “A lot of people have been [suggesting] that idea, but I just don’t know five people I could get. Who could replace Big Pun, man? Who can replace Cam’ron? Who is the new L.O.X.? Who is the new Nature?” N.O.R.E. acknowledged that nobody could replace him.
