A man named Joey Turner, Jr. has been sued by Eagles Entertainment, Inc. for falsely representing himself as Drake’s manager. Turner allegedly claimed to be Drake’s actual manager, Cortez Bryant, and reportedly accepted a $9,000 deposit for booking the Young Money superstar to a September 1 concert in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The lawsuit maintains that Turner was aware that his claims were fraudulent.
In a statement released today, Drake apologized to fans. Portions of that statement read, “It has been brought to my attention that false promoters and booking agents are illegally using my name and likeness to promote concerts and club appearances for their own financial gain. It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters.” Drake maintained that he and his management team are cooperating with Eagles Entertainment to see the crime is properly punished.
