Nashville rapper Young Buck is not the only artist shirking the IRS for taxes as Swizz Beatz, Wyclef Jean and Obie Trice are also reportedly behind on their payments.
Swizz Beatz (born Kasseem Dean), who recently married singer Alicia Keys last weekend, has had 35 tax liens between 2003-2010 with over $4.1 million owed in that time period. While Beatz has been making payments, the IRS claims the New York producer still owes more than $2.1 million in taxes.
Rapper/producer Wyclef Jean reportedly owes around the same amount ($2.1 million) in back taxes for his non-profit organization Yele Haiti. Though the veteran artist drew public recognition for his relief efforts following the earthquake in Haiti this past winter, Jean has failed to pay taxes for his organization in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
While a significantly lower bill, Detroit rapper Obie Trice is also in the red with the IRS. According to The Detroit News, Trice owes $298,000 in taxes. Interestingly enough, the tax lien for the 32-year-old rapper is addressed to his mother’s house in Detroit.
