It is now official. After months of stating in the media that he wanted to part company with his record company distributor, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has now taken his Bad Boy Record Company away from Arista Records, headed by L.A. Reid. Stating to the media that he wants to “take his destiny in his own hands”, P.Diddy has retaken over the entire roster of artist that were previously on his label. Included in the list of artists, is R&B singer Faith Evans, who has expressed her dismay with the way the two labels have been handling her contract without considering her feelings.
Combs, who is riding high with the success of his new album “We Invented the Remix”, is not only taking over the industry with his music but fashion as well. “I’m a young black man in my prime and I’m hotter than ever as far as artists, producer, record executive and fashion designer. I now own 100 percent of my catalogue,” P.Diddy said in a statement. Although Bad Boy is being pursued by several major record labels no deal has been signed.
