Ice Cube Shuts Down Fan Who Said Machine Gun Kelly’s “Rap Devil” Bests “No Vaseline”

A lot has been said recently about the fiery diss records Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly have traded in the past week.

But one fan, in particular, made waves on social media after making quite the bold comparison between Em and MGK’s beef and one of Hip Hop’s most iconic diss records.

“@machinegunkelly just passed @icecube no Vaseline on number 1 dis song. Also moving @YoungDolph play with yo to number 3. Gotta love a good dis song,” Twitter user @Brandon__Powers declared at the top of the week.

The tweet garnered a response from Ice Cube himself who didn’t hesitate in crippling the comparison.

“Yeah right, one on one will never beat one against four (plus Jerry Heller). Murdered the track, killed the group. Game over,” Ice Cube tweeted.

Released in 1991 as the closer on Cube’s classic sophomore effort, Death Certificate, the track gained new life this decade when it was depicted in the blockbuster biopic, 2015’s Straight Outta Compton.

In addition to the support of fans, Cube received the backing of Public Enemy’s Chuck D who offered his own two cents.

“I still don’t know why millennials and 90ers gonna even play @icecube and @llcoolj like they ain’t pour the concrete on this wordGame we call HIPHOP and Rap. Words and they’ve been the BEST at it. GOATs,” Chuck D wrote in his tweet.

    1. gotta love these lil kids who dont know shit about hip hop…. dude had young dolph at #3?????? LMFAO

brandon powers needs to deactivate all of his accts.

    2. Cube great mc, but one of the fakest cats in hip hop history. He still wants us to believe everything he was saying was true, dude is a bonafide liar. He has never given Jerry or Eazy the credit they deserved for really putting him on. Without Eazy money, cube never would have gotten the exposure, without Jerry’s contact and connection the deals don’t go through. I’ve always felt Cube was jealous of Eazy, he wanted to be what Eazy was a cat from the street, that used real street hustle to start a record label, he was jealous of the love real ganster showed Eazy because they actually knew him from the streets. I knew they were going to play Eazy in that movie in they did, Cube didn’t want Eazy’s legacy to grow

      1. Stop it… Cube nor dre got the proper credit… Easy was blind to jerry ways cube was real for speaking on it… And dont forget who wrote those nwa tracks

    3. Rap Devil wasn’t even the best Diss this year (Pusha T’s was) what made that tard think that it’s better than No Vaceline. Not to mention that claiming it’s #1, means it’s a better diss than; Hit Em Up, Takeover, Either, Nail In the Coffin, King of the Hill, Drop A Gem on Em, Real Mothafucken G’s, It’s On, the Bitch In You, Till the Break of Dawn, Go to Sleep, Shit Hits the Fan, Piggy Bank, or the Bar Series that Game has.

      This Tard is clueless SMDH

      1. No Rest for the Wicked – Cypress Hill. All time classic diss record. The Hill gave Cube that work for jacking their track.

    4. Some millenials don’t no what they try to speak on. Don’t compare no vaseline to MGK diss. Any authentic hip hop fan knows MGK only has average bars on his records. This diss he made is the best he’s done so far in his career. Poor comparison!

    5. Don Mega is probably my favourite rapper but MGKs diss is better than no Vaseline. And cube never killed NWA. Nigaz4life was a better album than str8 outta Compton and eazy ended up dropping his best solos afterwards. ignorant to say he killed the group.

    6. In my opinion Ice Cubes “No Vaseline”, 2Pacs “Hit em Up” and DJ Quiks “Dollars and Sense” are the best dis songs ever.

    7. Fuck Compton by Tim Dog packaged with the music video could be the best diss. I thought MGK was trash but hes really trying and stepped up his shit.

    8. I like cube, but thats his point of view. The group self destructed over money…Period. It could have been handled better firing Jerry and moving forward. Out of Cube, Dre, and Eazy, the first two couldn’t come close to Eric Wright biznez. he was doing Big Thingz before he died. But I always said, a Dre and Yella produced MC Ren record woulda been ended ended Cube careers, but as you can see cube cant adapt with the times likes a Jay Z or Bird Man. Dre don’t sell records like that. If it wasn’t for EM he woulda been fell off. Cube He never sold high prolific records like that. Eazy’s records sold more records than Cubes without Dre based on his style and persona. He had the Ruthless Radio Show, Ruthless Woofers (speakers) he was inventing his own video game, financially backing a music video station, Bone was coming up, and had 45 million distribution deal with Sony, and he still owned what ever Dre produced for 6 years. If Jerry and Tomika wasn’t in the picture he woulda owned the music industry today. Enough said!
