Hip Hop Loves Kanye West’s “Scoopity Poop” Bars

The Hip Hop community uttered a collective “WTF” when Kanye West delivered “Lift Yourself” on Friday night (April 27).

As the track begins, it sounds like it’s about to be another straightforward Yeezy production but when he starts to speak, things (unsurprisingly) get wonky.

Although Ye initially promises the next verse is going to be explosive, instead we get the Chi-Town native rapping, “Poopy-di scoop/Scoop-diddy-whoop/Whoop-di-scoop-di-poop/Poop-di-scoopty.”

Naturally, the internet was set ablaze with reactions to Kanye’s bizarre “song” and people were quick to chime in with their colorful opinions.

T-Pain tweeted, “When ye said ‘Scoopdity poop’ I felt that,'” while Your Old Droog joked that “Scoopity poop” would be better than “your next album.”

Ye followed up with “Ye Vs. The People” featuring T.I. on Saturday morning (April 28), which found the two Hip Hop vets debating Donald Trump, their political stances and how Ye’s actions can have profound consequences on his career.

Meanwhile, Kanye is preparing to release his next solo album on June 1 and currently toying with the idea of using the face of Jan Adams — his late mother’s plastic surgeon — as the cover art.

    1. …Remember When HIP HOP Was About Celebrating EXCELLENCE in Lyricism, Delivery and Sayin’ something…it’s FULL of CLOWNS, BUFFOONS and IDIOTS Now! We’re Gonna Look back at this time as an EPIC LOW POINT and Rock Bottom GARGAGE time!

      1. Yeah because Vanilla Ice , Master P, MC Hammer, Jermaine Dupri, Birdman and Tone Loc really cared about lyricism back in the day. You “real hip hop heads” are really dillusional.

    2. Holy fuck people. If Kanye sucks another man’s cock, everyone will think it’s ok and do the same. His mom is probably turning over and crying in her grave. I’m done listening to Kanye. Deleting every album except his first one.

    3. All of these heads praising this bullshit might as well lock themselves in a 6 x 8 and call it a life. FOH.

    4. That shit was dope asf the beat the production everything I’m proud of ma man yeezy he doesn’t think like the rest of the sheep n he doin his own thing n if u don’t understand wut he doin than ur one of the idiots he’s trollin

        1. How did u come to that conclusion because I see n understand wut the hell he’s doin or should I jus say fuck Kanye like the rest of the sheep

    5. All the real lyricists turned out to show their support; T-Pain, 4 dudes I have never heard of and Lil B.
Go back to making Dad shoes.

    6. Kanyé shit on his entire fan base. Then intentionally released a track that literally talks about shit just to prove that the sheep he’s been deriding for a week are exactly that. And he didn’t miss a beat. He knows his following is so loyal that nothing he says about them will cause them to walk away. After the rave reviews of “scoopity poop” I envision him turning to Kim and saying, “See! I told you! SHEEP!!!”

    7. he released this “song” to give a demonstration of the shit he’s been doing lately. he was showcasing the production, and just said some stupid bullshit at the end.

considering the production is back to somewhat traditional kanye standards, i think its something we should all be excited about. the life of pablo is bad by kanyes standards because its just a bunch of generic beats with his production value on top.

    8. If you really look into the lyrics, he’s dispelling the stereotypes about black culture. He’s demystifying heroes and celebrity obsession and entertainment culture at large. He’s at the highest level speaking to the lowest level populous. He’s doing this by using the most absurd language possible. It speaks to intellectuals and working class people. He’s talking about unemployment, cultural appropriation and the work that still needs to be done to address racism and tainted politics in America. – the Kanye hypebeasts trying to make this a “thing”
