Two of Atlantic Records’ new stars cross the 500,000 mark. Collaborators Bruno Mars and B.o.B. meet their domestic gold this week with each’s debut album reaching that plateau. Christian emcee Lecrae also made a splash with a Top 20 debut, Rehab: The Overdose, which very nearly topped Eminem’s similarly titled Recovery.
Bruno Mars topped all urban releases on the charts. After making a monstrous climb on the charts two weeks ago, Atlantic’s Grammy Awards-performing singer, producer and songwrite assumed the #4 spot with his debut Doo Wops & Hooligans, which features B.o.B. and Damian Marley.
DXnext alum Nicki Minaj slid three spots, though was close behind with Pink Friday. The effort out-sold the critically-acclaimed Kanye West album for a fifth straight week, which was released on the same November 22 date. Featuring both Nicki’s brand of singing and rapping, Pink Friday has appearances from will.i.am, Drake and Eminem.
At #8, Rihanna’s Loud album continues to climb towards platinum, with features from Eminem, Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Closing out the Top 10 was Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The album officially scored global platinum status late last week, selling over one million worldwide units, according to the RIAA.
Eminem’s Recovery fell nine spots to #14. As one of the year’s best-selling albums, the Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records release could reach 3.5 overall domestic units sold next week. The work features production from Alex da Kid, DJ Khalil, Just Blaze and Mobb Deep’s Havoc.

This is among one of the highest charting postions ever for the Hip Hop sub-genre. The album features Canon, J. Paul and production by Street Symphony.
T.I.‘s No Mercy fell five spots to #24. The emcee and label owner’s latest album was released while he was incarcerated for probation violations earlier this year, involving drugs. The latest album from Tip features Kid Cudi, Scarface and Rocko, with production by DJ Toomp, Kanye West and Jake One.
Lil Wayne‘s digital-turned-physical 2010 release I Am Not A Human Being slid down two spots to #27 in the last week. The album could cross 700,000 units as of next week.
Kid Cudi‘s Man On The Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager will likely cross 350,000 units next week. The G.O.O.D/Universal Motown sensation’s latest album features mentor Kanye West, along with Cee Lo and veteran Brooklyn underground emcee Cage.
Just units short of 500,000, B.o.B.‘s The Adventures of Bobby Ray is approximated to the coveted milestone this week. Joining label-mate and collaborator Bruno Mars for the feat, Bobby’s debut album was among last year’s top five Rap sellers, through the third quarter. The album features Playboy Tre, T.I. and Eminem.

Lecrae has dropped 2 albums in less than 4 months and they both debuted in the top 20 on the Billboard charts. That’s with no significant radio play, no tv promotion, and no major record label deal. On top of that, he’s the co-owner of his own label. Overall, his #’s aren’t huge, but for an independent, they are! Give him a couple more albums/years, and he might be putting up major #’s….and we’re talking about a Christian rapper….God is working in his life and all those who are blessed by his music. I encourage everyone to pick up his albums, it’s selling so well for a reason!

Looks like the end for T.I. and Wayne too, but maybe their legal issues made it hard to promote those albums, but when it’s all said and done, those are Gold albums so they are done too.
