Despite the polarizing opinions on Eminem’s ninth studio album Revival, the 19-track project has nabbed the Billboard 200 crown for the week ending December 21. It marks the first time in Billboard’s history that an artist has earned eight consecutive #1 album debuts.
Elsewhere on the chart, G-Eazy’s The Beautiful & Damned debuted at #3 and Jeezy’s Pressure hit the ground running at #6, while Brockhampton’s Saturation III made its entrance in the Top 20. With 36,418 total album equivalent units sold, 24,935 pure album sales and a streaming count of 16,860,739, it was enough to earn the California-based collective a #15 spot.
Slim Shady Dominates
The inimitable Marshall Mathers dominated the chart this week with Revival. The Detroit rap goliath pulled in 266,520 total album equivalent units, 197,426 pure album sales and a streaming count 82,465,294 to land at #1.
G-Eazy Lands In Top 5
G-Eazy hit the chart at #3 with his latest endeavor The Beautiful & Damned, just one spot below pop princess Taylor Swift and her new album Reputation. With 121,920 total album equivalent units, 68,098 pure album sales and a streaming count of 70,247,978, it marks the 28-year-old’s fifth studio album. It also serves as the follow-up to 2015’s When It’s Dark Out, which debuted at #5.
Soul Survivor
Jeezy’s eighth studio album, Pressure, has made its modest debut at #6 with 71,974 total album equivalent units, 54,147 pure album sales and a streaming count of 23,917,010. The project is the Snowman’s follow-up to 2016’s Trap Or Die 3, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Props to G Eazy for reminding everyone of what a great Eminem album is on his shirt.
EMINEM THE GOAT
yea thanks , i know
Still not going to listen to it.
Revival was a good album. People hate on em bc its cool thing 2 do. But lyrically hes better than ever he just needs better sounds behind it
No, I have my own opinion. Not a huge fan of the albums, but it does have some good music on it too. I grew up listening to his music.
People don’t hate on him cause that’s the thing to do, people dislike him sometimes because he can be corny, and talking about killing/raping your own family members can be over the top, he is a good rapper but for the most part of his career he leans towards gimmicky, another thing is the Media try to shove him in our face the same way they do drake, they tried to control the narrative and say Em is the greatest of all time like how they are trying to push drake being the best rapper when he doesn’t even write his own lyrics. I find it funny that some of the same people on here try to tell us how great Em is and some of yall are the same ones saying that meek yells too much, and Em doesn’t???
That’s why i don’t listen to the radio or watch award shows or any of that junk. M’s album was no good but he has the number one album. This makes me sick. Pop rappers must go before it is too late. There were alot of great hip hop albums not rap out their this year but where are they. Black artists are being pushed out of our own music again by the corporations again. What ashame.
Did you just say “Em!” Was …. Pop rap?? Well maybe because you referred to him as “M”… This shows you dont know about shady . why make it a race issue? Thats so damn ugly . Many , many very respected black rappers have given Eminem praise. What a shame.. At least its not ashamed though right !! Lmao!
Carly you made it into race not me. Italians make the best italian food because it’s there tradition, right. Well, black people make the best black music because it’s our tradition, right. This has nothing to do with race it’s just common sense. Talented white hip hop artists always have a place because their good. I just don’t like any rapper with no talent. It was good talking you. Death to the years and corporations.
I agree with you the album is trash but Eminem has a lot of Stans that’s going to buy the album regardless. Give it a couple of weeks that album is not going to be around like that “DAMN” album has cause his album doesn’t have a hit song on it.
cheak my lyrics out uncle josh c-LIFE soundcloud botches
Eminem new album was trash Too much political stuff in it if I want to hear that I will turn on a news or go on my Facebook
Listen to the 17 other tracks not political but in our old age shud matter sum
I think DAMN still being top 10 is more impressive
just doublé checked and yes ladys and gentlemans it still suck
Close mind never sees
M is and remains the rap god
Can’t be a rap god with a terrible album.
That album don’t have a hit song on it so it won’t last as long as DAMN has on the charts.
Em is a good performer and he b himself not faking 2 sell music he’s telling a story… At least he don’t talk about da same stuff every other artists is talking about money, drugs, cars ect ect ect
At this point, I’d say that Jay-Z is better than Eminem. Jay rebounded with 4:44 after that Magna Carta Holy Fail. Eminem hasn’t put out a great album in over a decade.
Wtf. Say no to drugs. Em is the goat
Say no to drugs, lol. Just listen to 4:44, Jay did a better grown up, mature, introspective album than Em did. Maybe Em should take notes and come through with a better sounding album than this Revival trash. And this is coming from someone who thought Em outshined Jay on “Renegade”.
Only every CD… Only artist to have 9 or 11 consecutive #1debut singles on the billboard charts
Eminem the goat my a***. the guy is ridiculously overrated just like Jay z. Yes he is skilled on the mic like so many other rappers but the difference is they get slept on. Eminem’s albums are not all that, hard to call even one of them a classic maybe slim shady lp but even that’s pushing it. So many albums better than any Eminem or Jay z album. If Biggie didn’t pass early, it is unlikely Jay would of been as big today.
Stupidity at its finest!!
Its the truth.
Please stop lol
Ignorance at its finest…. name one rapper, no one even in same line w em who can hold a flame ? up to my boy…. Go ahead I’ll wait…. ……. …….. **waits patiently forever**
Fat Joe’s and Remy Ma’s Album is much, much better than Em’s this year . Fat Joe is Truly being slept on.
If you dont think Em’s album is his best album you are and idiot.. his talent and the way he puts his vocals on a track is like no other.. he is keeping hip hop alive .. keep on doing what you are doing. I’ve been a fan since infinite iv matured with his music as em has. One love em fuck the haters .#1
Tru story same here I feel ya…. If everyone liked it it wudnt b him and those who don’t lik it are too closed off or immature, absent minded to even see the genius… Death to mumble rappers & slim shady is king ?,& one & only rap God…. Jcrew ?
